Who We Are
Go Green College Painters was founded in 2024 by siblings Jackson and Evelyn Befus. We're a student-owned, owner-operated painting company — which means the two people who quote your job are the same two people who show up, prep, paint, and clean up. No subcontractors, no rotating crews of summer hires, no salesperson handing your project to strangers.
We serve Greater Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a focus on the cedar-sided neighborhoods of the east side — Cascade, Forest Hills, Ada, and East Grand Rapids — handling exterior painting, interior painting, deck staining, and custom murals.
Meet the Founders
Jackson Befus — Co-Owner & Project Manager
Jackson co-founded Go Green College Painters in 2024 while studying Communications and Entrepreneurship at Michigan State University. His love for painting started unexpectedly — a summer spent restoring his dad's vintage 36-foot sailboat sparked a real passion for the craft. Since then he's led the team through interior and exterior projects of every size, residential and commercial, with a simple commitment: show up on time and get the job done right.
Evelyn Befus — Co-Owner & Creative Director
Evelyn studies Industrial Design at Wayne State University, and her passion for art and painting goes back as far as she can remember — illustrating, painting, and creating have always been at the heart of who she is. Go Green has given her the chance not only to pay for college, but to bring a creative eye to projects that start as simple one-color refreshes. If you have a vision for a children's space, a dining room, or a mural, Evelyn can bring it to life.
Why "Go Green"?
The name is a nod to Michigan State University — Jackson's school, and the Spartan green that goes with it. It's a bit of hometown pride baked into the brand.

- Fully insured. Full liability insurance on every project, with proof available on request.
- Free, fixed-price estimates. We walk the property, identify the prep that's actually needed, and give you a written number that doesn't change unless the scope does.
